Kenia Zavala has been appointed as Director of Spa at SpaTerre at Kona Kai San Diego

Zavala began pursuing her interest in health and wellness in college, earning a bachelor's degree in dietetics from Point Loma Nazarene University in San Diego. She began her professional career at Estancia La Jolla Hotel & Spa in La Jolla, Calif., another celebrated Noble House Hotels & Resorts property, as the spa coordinator at Spa Estancia where she sharpened her administrative and guest relations skills before moving on to the Catamaran Hotel & Spa to continue honing on her craft. Most recently, she served as the spa supervisor at San Diego's AquaVie Fitness & Wellness Club where she managed spa operations, team leadership and vendor relationship development in addition to overseeing related marketing efforts to drive visitation and revenue.

In her role as director of spa at Kona Kai's SpaTerre, Zavala oversees all aspects of spa operations including staff and product management and budgeting in addition to development of promotions and experiences designed to drive awareness and support revenue growth. She is currently focused on integrating additional wellness experiences into SpaTerre's menu, expansion of the retail experience and driving awareness for memberships and offers for the local community.

Outside of her professional endeavors, Zavala is passionate about self-care and wellness and finds fulfillment in activities including weightlifting, biking and spending time outdoors. A reptile enthusiast and proud snake owner, she enjoys exploring farmer's markets to support local and sustainable food sources and can regularly be found reading and expanding her knowledge.
