Jörg Arnold

Jörg Arnold will take over management of The Chedi Andermatt as General Manager on October 1, 2023; at the same time he will become Cluster Director Hotels Andermatt of Orascom Hotels Management. In this function, he will continue to grow the hotels and develop them into a prime alpine destination. Jörg Arnold (born 1960) was most recently General Manager of the 5* hotels Storchen and Widder in Zurich and Alex in Thalwil.

Born in Uri, Jörg Arnold has over 35 years of experience in the international tourism and hotel business, both in strategic and operational management. Arnold worked at the Hotel Storchen in Zurich for 22 years, from 2006 as General Manager and from 2020 also as General Manager of the 5* Hotels Widder (Zurich) and Alex (Thalwil). Jörg Arnold is a member of the board of directors of the Ecole hôtelière de Lausanne (EHL) and was a long-standing member of the executive board of HotellerieSuisse and vice-president of Zurich Tourism. He was also a board member of Switzerland Tourism.

Jörg Arnold will directly manage The Chedi Andermatt as General Manager at the Andermatt Swiss Alps Group. As Cluster Director Hotels Andermatt, he also manages the business area with the hotels The Chedi on behalf of Orascom Hotels ManagementAndermatt, Radisson Blu Reussen and the Andermatt Alpine Apartments. The first work on the third hotel, which is also part of the building, began in 2023. The opening is planned for 2027/28. The merger of the hotels will open up additional growth opportunities for the Andermatt Swiss Alps Group on international markets and synergies from increased cooperation.
