Perry MacLennan has been appointed General Counsel at Raines Company
Raines has hired Perry MacLennan as general counsel. In this new role, MacLennan will serve on the executive team and oversee all legal aspects of the Raines business. His primary responsibilities will include strategic legal, deal structure, and risk management. Perry will also assist the company in managing its workforce of approximately 1,400 team members, leveraging his previous experience as a labor and employment attorney in private practice. He will report to managing partners Grey Raines and David Tart.
MacLennan was previously a shareholder at Haynsworth Sinkler Boyd, P.A., where he practiced law for 10 years. He has served as outside counsel to businesses across many industries, focusing his work on contracts, labor, economic development, commercial dispute resolution, and other corporate matters.
MacLennan is active in the community and the legal profession, previously serving as President of the South Carolina Bar Young Lawyers Division and recently receiving a Leadership in Law award from South Carolina Lawyers Weekly. He has been recognized over the last several years by Best Lawyers in America and South Carolina Super Lawyers.
MacLennan lives in Florence, S.C., with his wife Jenna, an OBGYN at McLeod Hospital, also in Florence. They have two children, Cile and Pierce. Outside of work, he loves to travel, exercise, and play golf and tennis.
