Armando Monterroso has been named Vice President of Food & Beverage at TradeWinds Island Resorts

The TradeWinds Island Resorts - the Island Grand Resort and RumFish Beach Resort - located along 40 acres of sugary white beach on the island of St. Pete Beach, Florida, has announced Armando Monterroso as Vice President of Food & Beverage. A member of the executive team, Monterroso is responsible for business strategies for all dining outlets at the two properties, including RumFish Grill, where the restaurant's main attraction is a 33,500-gallon aquarium built by Animal Planet's hit series, "Tanked." He will also oversee planning, product placement and the delivery of a superior food and beverage product for TradeWinds guests.

Monterroso was most recently Vice President of Food & Beverage for Playa Hotels & Resorts' collection of 24 resorts in Mexico and the Caribbean, collectively housing as many as 8 restaurants and bars per property. Monterroso has also worked as Corporate Director of Food & Beverage for the Kalahari Resorts & Conventions in the Wisconsin Dells; Director of Culinary Operations for Gaylord Opryland Hotel & Convention Center in Nashville; and Executive Chef at the Marriott Marquis in New York City. Monterroso has a degree in Food Service Management from Johnson & Wales University, where he also earned an Associate of Occupational Studies. A native of Boston, Monterroso has spent more than 20 years honing his career in the culinary hospitality industry.
