Valerie Donaldson has been appointed as General Manager at Radisson Blu Sheffield
Radisson Hotel Group is pleased to announce the appointment of Valerie Donaldson as General Manager of the new Radisson Blu Hotel Sheffield, which is scheduled to open this summer. Valerie will play a pivotal role in overseeing the opening of the stunning new property with its grand Victorian facade in the heart of Sheffield city centre. The hotel features 154 light and airy modern rooms, many of which look out over the picturesque landscape of the city's Peace Gardens and its historic clock tower, where the combination of Sheffield's history and regeneration unfolds.
As an integral part of Radisson Hotel Group since 2008, Valerie brings a wealth of experience to her newly appointed position. Having worked across several hotels within the Group, Valerie successfully headed up the refurbishment and re-positioning of Radisson Blu Hotel in Leeds between 2012 and 2015. Prior to that, she was also part of the management team for the opening of Radisson SAS in Birmingham.
With her passion for hospitality, Valerie aims to reflect this throughout the hotel with a team who emulate her commitment to providing excellent service standards for their guests. The hotel is currently undergoing a recruitment drive and Valerie is keen to assemble a group of people with the same 'can-do' attitude she holds herself.
Radisson Blu Hotel Sheffield is situated within 10 minutes' walk of Sheffield train station. The hotel will feature multifunctional meeting and events spaces, a gym, and a high-end rooftop restaurant and bar with stunning views across the city.
Valerie is a hard-working mum of two boys. She has an international background but classes herself as a proud Yorkshire woman after marrying a Yorkshire man and moving to the region, where she has lived with her family for over 14 years.
