Saba Khalid has been appointed as Security Manager at Radisson RED Dubai Silicon Oasis

Saba Khalid has been unveiled as Radisson RED Dubai Silicon Oasis' new Security Manager, marking a hugely significant milestone given the fact women remain severely underrepresented in security leadership roles, both in the Middle East and globally.

Saba Khalid

Having spent seven years as an English lecturer, Khalid moved into the aviation security industry in 2019, strengthening her skills in the role during the COVID-19 pandemic, when security professionals were still on the frontline.

During her time working in security, Khalid has continued to grow and evolve, picking up several industry qualifications along the way, including the SIRA Guard License, NEBOSH certification, and the SIRA Security Manager License.

In her new role, Khalid will be tasked with enhancing emergency preparedness, leveraging technology-driven surveillance systems, and introducing real-time incident reporting tools, while she is committed to shaping a culture where security is everyone's responsibility, integrated into the DNA of hospitality.

On a global level, there is a huge gulf between the number of male and female security officers. In the UK, only 10.2 percent of Security Industry Authority license holders are women, while in the US, just 25 percent of security officers are female, making Khalid's appointment even more notable.
