Building on the restaurant's recent enhancements in 2024, the new chef is ushering in a bold new chapter for the Ranch's dining experience, focusing on hyper-seasonal, "seed-to-fork" California cuisine that celebrates the land.

Chef Thaxton will oversee all culinary operations, bringing a background rich with Michelin-level staging, James Beard dinners, and executive chef posts at Ritz-Carlton properties in Washington, D.C. and Cancun. This classically trained chef, who has over 20 years of international culinary leadership, is set to translate his experience into a distinctly Carmel Valley flavor profile.
