Riccardo Bortolotti has been appointed as Area General Manager at R Collection Hotels Lake Como

In line with its steady growth and a vision focused on enhancing the finest Italian hospitality, R Collection Hotels continues its expansion with an entry into the Como market, where two new openings are planned under the leadership of Riccardo Bortolotti, newly appointed Area General Manager.

Riccardo Bortolotti

Bortolotti is a manager with a contemporary vision of hospitality, inspired by sustainability, authenticity, and the Italian lifestyle. In his previous role as General Manager of the Grand Hotel Bristol Spa Resort in Rapallo, he contributed to redefining the brand and the property's spaces, developing an experiential hospitality concept based on art, music, cuisine, and lifestyle — a journey that culminated in the hotel joining the international Virtuoso network in May 2025.

With the close of the 2025 summer season, Bortolotti leaves the Ligurian Riviera to take on a new challenge on Lake Como, where R Collection Hotels will once again manage two of its centrally located properties, currently operated by the Villa d'Este Group. The openings are scheduled for January 2027. In the coming months, he will oversee the strategic development of both hotels: the Palace Hotel, currently a four-star property, will undergo structural renovations and an upgrade to five-star status, while the Hotel Excelsior Barchetta will be subject to a major refurbishment program, to be unveiled soon.

Riccardo Bortolotti is an alumnus of Cornell | Nolan School of Hotel Administration – Class of 2025.
