In his expanded role, Teong Wah will continue to lead PARKROYAL COLLECTION Pickering while assuming strategic oversight of PARKROYAL on Beach Road. He will work closely with Mr Damian Tan, General Manager of PARKROYAL on Beach Road, who will continue to manage the hotel’s day-to-day operations, ensuring seamless execution while  advancing long-term growth and development initiatives across both properties.

With more than three decades of experience in the hospitality industry, Teong Wah brings extensive regional expertise and deep knowledge of Singapore’s hospitality landscape. A former General Manager of PARKROYAL on Beach Road, he returns to the property with  an intimate understanding of its brand heritage and operational strengths.

Since assuming leadership of PARKROYAL COLLECTION Pickering, Teong Wah has championed innovation, sustainability and workforce transformation. He oversaw the renovation and repositioning of the hotel’s ballroom and meeting venues, enhancing their appeal as premier event spaces while integrating sustainable design and technology driven capabilities to meet evolving client expectations.

A strong advocate for workforce transformation, Teong Wah has led several “lighthouse” initiatives focused on job redesign, digital adoption and data-driven decision-making to improve productivity and elevate guest experience. His emphasis on continuous upskilling and inclusive leadership has fostered a workplace culture where diverse perspectives are valued and employees are empowered to grow alongside the business.

In close alignment with Singapore’s Hotel Industry Transformation Map and in collaboration with ecosystem partners including the Singapore Tourism Board (STB), Workforce Singapore (WSG), and the Singapore Hotel Association, Teong Wah positioned PARKROYAL COLLECTION Pickering as a model for workforce and business evolution. Under his leadership, the hotel redesigned 10 job roles, piloted AI-powered automated guided vehicles for luggage delivery and a Data Lake project that consolidated guest and operational data to enhance manpower planning and personalisation. These initiatives  improved productivity in some areas by 30 per cent, reduced manual workload across departments, increased output per employee and strengthened profit margins, while elevating service standards.

His leadership has garnered industry recognition. In 2025, Teong Wah was named among the ‘Top 5 Best Hotel General Managers in Singapore’ at the Travel + Leisure Luxury Awards Asia Pacific 2025. Under his stewardship, PARKROYAL COLLECTION Pickering also received the ‘Workforce Transformation Award 2025’ by Workforce Singapore and the Singapore Hotel Association, a testament to the hotel’s progressive approach to talent development and organisational innovation.

With this appointment, PPHG reaffirms its commitment to thoughtful leadership succession and sustainable growth, while preserving the distinct identity of each property and strengthening their position within Singapore’s dynamic hospitality landscape.

Kung Teong Wah is an alumnus of Cornell | Executive and Professional Education – Class of 2024.
