Olivia Johnson has been appointed as General Manager at Thompson Houston, by Hyatt
Thompson Houston, the city’s leading lifestyle hotel overlooking Buffalo Bayou Park, is pleased to announce the appointment of Olivia Johnson as General Manager. A dedicated hospitality leader with more than a decade of experience across California, New York, and Texas, Johnson steps into the role following her instrumental leadership as Hotel Manager during the property’s opening.
Johnson’s career has grown alongside the Thompson brand, beginning with her involvement in the opening of The Beekman, one of the Thompson Hotel’s in New York. She later joined Hyatt in 2020 to support the opening of Thompson San Antonio as Director of Rooms, where she played a key role in establishing operational excellence and delivering elevated guest experiences. Most recently, Johnson relocated to Houston to support the opening of Thompson Houston as Hotel Manager, where she was instrumental in shaping the hotel’s operational foundation, team culture, and guest journey.
Known for her thoughtful leadership style and commitment to fostering empowered, high-performing teams, Johnson brings a deep passion for hospitality and a strong connection to the Thompson Houston property. In her new role, she will oversee all hotel operations, with a focus on elevating guest experiences, supporting the hotel’s continued growth, and strengthening its position as one of Houston’s premier destinations for travelers and locals alike.
