Anna Contreras has been appointed as General Manager at The Kimpton Pittman Hotel
The Kimpton Pittman Hotel, the 165-room boutique landmark at the edge of Downtown Dallas and the Deep Ellum Cultural District, is pleased to announce the appointment of Anna Contreras as General Manager. A 15-year industry veteran known for transforming hospitality spaces and fostering high-performance teams, Contreras joins the Pittman with a focus on strengthening local partnerships and delivering guest experiences that feel distinctly Deep Ellum. As one of the most historically rich and creatively-vital spots in the city, the hotel is a tribute to the surrounding community’s past and present.
Under Contreras’ leadership, the Pittman is ushering in a new era as a vibrant community destination, offering an expanded lineup of immersive experiences and curated programming. Guests and locals can enjoy ongoing offerings such as weekly live music with Live at Elm & Good and the monthly Brunch & Beats. Industry professionals are also welcomed with Industry Sundays, featuring a discount for hospitality peers, further reinforcing the hotel’s commitment to community.
Contreras joins the Pittman following tenure as General Manager of Kimpton Angler’s Hotel South Beach, where her leadership was defined by a people-first culture that prioritized professional development alongside operational efficiency. This approach, evidenced by property-wide initiatives like on-site English language classes, drove a 92% employee satisfaction score, ranking the hotel among the top three in the IHG network. For Contreras, a vibrant internal culture serves as the primary engine for the guest experience. During her interim leadership at Kimpton Hotel Palomar South Beach, this strategy translated into a 35-point surge in guest loyalty scores in just six months. Her success at the Angler’s was further marked by the strategic re-concepting of three food and beverage outlets and the expansion of the property’s meeting and event footprint, expertise she now brings to the Pittman’s historic spaces.
Her strategic background is anchored in high-volume lifestyle properties. During her time as Hotel Manager at the 411-room Kimpton EPIC, she was instrumental in driving a 131% increase in pool revenue and managing 28,000 square feet of complex event space. This expertise in maximizing hotel spaces will be a catalyst for the Pittman’s 18,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor event space, including the landmark Beaux-Arts Parker Ballroom.
The hotel’s food and beverage venues, Elm & Good and Deep End, remain go-to destinations for culinary experiences, and under Contreras’ direction, they will continue to evolve with creative, dynamic offerings that further put Dallas cuisine on the map. Deep Ellum itself is a thriving and influential community, and the Pittman aims to be its cultural and social hub—where locals and visitors can connect, celebrate, and create unforgettable memories. Through elevated dining, innovative programming, and meaningful partnerships, the hotel is positioned as a must-visit destination that embodies the energy, artistry, and spirit of this iconic Dallas neighborhood.
The Kimpton Pittman, housed in the restored 1916 Knights of Pythias Temple designed by William Sidney Pittman, the first known Black architect in Texas, remains a tribute to the neighborhood’s 1870s roots while serving the modern traveler.
