Devon Pritchard has been appointed as Executive Sous Chef at Silverado Resort
Silverado Resort announces the promotion of Devon Pritchard to the position of Executive Sous Chef. A versatile culinary talent with a career spanning high-end pastry arts and large-scale savory operations, Pritchard will now oversee a broader scope of the resort’s culinary offerings, including the highly anticipated spring opening of Matchplay Kitchen + Bar.
Pritchard’s journey to this leadership role is rooted in a lifelong passion that began at age three, baking alongside his mother, continuing throughout high school and culinary school. His formal career took flight in 2010 at the famed Charm City Cakes (of Food Network’s Ace of Cakes), where he mastered the precision and artistry that define his style today. He continued in the culinary space, working in both savory and sweet preparations for Sacramento’s Kimpton Sawyer Hotel, Camden Spit & Larder and local catering companies where he learned to execute large and small events.
Since joining Silverado Resort in 2022 as Executive Pastry Chef, Pritchard has made his mark on the destination’s culinary program. He successfully revitalized the property’s pastry program, moving away from outsourced goods to a fully in-house operation. By collaborating with local farmers, he created a seasonal, ingredient-driven Wine Country-inspired menu and developed signature items like his rich, brown butter chocolate chunk cookie and a layered carrot cake inspired by his mother’s favorite recipe. In addition to his work in pastry, Devon leveraged his expertise in the savory space, reviving the resort’s pasta program, evening bar service, and market menu.
