Richard Evanich has been appointed as General Manager at Cavallo Point Lodge
Cavallo Point, the historic luxury resort at the end of the Golden Gate Bridge, is proud to announce the appointment of Richard Evanich as General Manager. A hospitality veteran with over 20 years of experience leading four- and five-star properties, Evanich brings a distinguished background of operational excellence and a deep-rooted passion for the guest experience to the iconic Sausalito retreat.
Evanich's career is a testament to professional dedication and the "American Dream" within the industry, beginning as a dishwasher in Wisconsin and rising to lead some of the most prestigious hotels in the world. His extensive background includes serving as Hotel Manager and General Manager for the flagship Ritz-Carlton Central Park, where he personally hired a team of 300 to secure both AAA Five-Diamond and Five-Star awards within nine months of opening. His tenure with the Ritz-Carlton brand also saw him championing pre- and post-opening strategies for the Battery Park location and managing residential partnerships at Boston Common.
Following his success with Ritz-Carlton, Evanich served as General Manager for the Irvine Company's Fashion Island Hotel, where he orchestrated a $3M renovation, and General Manager of the Waldorf Astoria Chicago, where he led the property to a #1 ranking on TripAdvisor. His versatile leadership extended to Hilton Worldwide, where he served as a Luxury Task Force General Manager, and most recently as Area Managing Director for Noble House Hotels & Resorts, overseeing the Napa Valley Wine Train and River Terrace Inn.
Evanich will oversee all hotel operations, focusing on his core business philosophy of driving employee engagement to ensure long-term success. He looks forward to further engaging with the Bay Area community and supporting local charitable initiatives. Evanich loves to entertain guests on the property's iconic front porches and decks — his favorite spot on-site — taking in the views of the Golden Gate Bridge from the Adirondack chairs.
