Sherry Abedi has been appointed as General Manager at LINE DC
The LINE DC is delighted to announce the appointment of Sherry Abedi as its new General Manager. In her new role she will oversee all aspects of the hotel, including operations, people and culture, sales and marketing, and guest experience strategy. Abedi will lead day-to-day hotel operations while driving programming, business development, and initiatives that strengthen the property’s connection to Washington D.C.’s cultural and creative communities.
With more than a decade of hospitality experience, Prior to joining the LINE DC, Abedi served as Area General Manager for Viceroy Washington DC and Hotel Zena, where she oversaw all facets of both properties, including rooms, food and beverage, and the development of new guest programming and amenities. Most recently before that, she served as General Manager of Thompson Washington D.C., where she led the hotel’s opening efforts and coordinated initiatives to relaunch operations following its pandemic-related closure.
Throughout her career, Abedi has held senior leadership positions at hospitality properties across the country, including Area General Manager of Quirk Hotel Richmond and Resort Manager of Lansdowne Resort. Her experience in hotel openings and operations also includes roles with The Madison Hotel, Hotel Casa del Mar, and Viceroy Palm Springs.
Abedi is deeply passionate about hospitality and values the meaningful connections the industry fosters with both teams and guests alike. Joining the LINE DC represented an opportunity to continue growing within a brand deeply connected to its local community and culture.
Abedi is recognized for her collaborative leadership approach. Her strength lies in working closely alongside every department to identify operational gaps and guest experience challenges in real time, while partnering with leadership teams to refine processes, adjust staffing strategies, and strengthen training initiatives.
Her favorite aspect of her role at the LINE DC is the people and the opportunity to foster creativity within a brand that has a strong cultural identity and sense of place, while continually evolving the guest experience and creating an environment where team members feel supported, informed, and empowered to succeed.
