An experienced leader with nearly four decades in the luxury hospitality industry, Maria brings extensive operational expertise and a proven track record of leading high-performing luxury resorts across the Caribbean, Middle East, Europe, and Asia.
Most recently, Maria oversaw the pre-opening of Hyatt Vivid Punta Cana, also in the Dominican Republic. Before joining Hyatt, she served as General Manager of Hilton Hurghada Plaza in Egypt, where she led the 531-room Red Sea resort to become Hilton's top-performing property in the country for guest satisfaction, quality assurance, and brand performance while delivering exceptional financial results. Throughout her career, she has overseen luxury resorts, hotel openings, repositionings, and complex operations for globally recognized brands, including Hilton Hotels & Resorts, Millennium Hotels & Resorts, Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts, Karisma Hotels & Resorts, Rotana Hotels, InterContinental Hotels Group, Le Méridien, and Sheraton.
