Mathew Dalby has been appointed as Design Director of Hospitality at Gensler

Gensler Australia has appointed Mathew Dalby as Design Director of Hospitality, tasked with building a dedicated hospitality design practice across Australia, NZ and the Pacific Islands.

Dalby brings 35 years in hospitality and luxury design. He joins from StudioFAB, the boutique design and delivery studio he co-founded in 2020, where he project managed Basq House in Byron Bay - recognised with a Michelin Key in 2025 and named in Travel + Leisure's Top 100 New Hotels of the World. He also developed the brand standards and technical guidelines for the award-winning hotel group Ovolo Group from the ground up. Earlier in his career he was the Creative Director of The Studio at Harrods (building the Harrods Hotels and Residences brand), and was Design Director at YOO, where he grew the interior design team from 6 to 26 across 12 countries working alongside the likes of Philippe Starck, Marcel Wanders, and Steve Leung.
