Pepijn Rijvers has been appointed as Chief Business Officer at Airbnb, Inc.
Today in a company-wide email, Airbnb co-founder and CEO Brian Chesky announced Pepijn Rijvers as the company’s new Chief Business Officer. He will oversee Homes, Hotels, Enterprise Operations, and Global Markets.
Pepijn succeeds Dave Stephenson, who has decided to move on from Airbnb at the end of the year after eight years with the company. Dave joined Airbnb as CFO, built a Finance organization known for its operational rigor, helped steer the company through COVID, led Airbnb through one of the most successful IPOs ever, and helped establish it as a Fortune 500 and S&P 500 company. As Airbnb’s first CBO, he built and led the Business organization, strengthened the core business, established Hotels, launched Services and Experiences, and helped lay the foundation for Airbnb’s next phase of growth. He will remain closely involved through the end of the year to support the transition.
Dave also serves as Head of Employee Experience. Fallon O'Connor, currently VP Communications, will take over that role with a new title of Head of Communications and People.
