Amro Talaat has been promoted to Chief Executive Officer UAE & Egypt at Gewan Hotels

Part of NG9 Holding and headquartered in Abu Dhabi, Gewan Hotels & Resorts is a homegrown UAE hospitality group with a growing portfolio across the UAE and Egypt and ambitions for further expansion across the wider MENA region. Under Amro’s leadership, the Group is focused on improving the performance of its existing portfolio while identifying new opportunities for growth in its current and future markets.

As Chief Executive Officer UAE & Egypt, Amro oversees the overall performance and direction of Gewan Hotels & Resorts, with a focus on sustainable growth, profitability, portfolio performance, commercial strategy, and long-term business development. His remit also includes strengthening the Group’s commercial position and ensuring its properties and business priorities support the wider objectives of NG9 Holding.

Amro brings more than 15 years of leadership experience across the hospitality, travel, and tourism sectors, with a strong background in commercial strategy, business development, revenue optimisation, and market expansion. Throughout his career, he has held senior roles at some of the UAE’s most prominent hospitality and travel organisations, developing extensive knowledge of the UAE and wider regional markets.

Before joining Gewan Hotels & Resorts, Amro held senior leadership responsibilities across the parent group’s hospitality and travel businesses, where he contributed to group-wide commercial performance, strategic partnerships, and integrated growth initiatives. His responsibilities included driving revenue optimisation, strengthening corporate and institutional partnerships, and aligning commercial strategies across multiple operating companies.

He also held executive positions at Nirvana Travel & Tourism, part of NG9 Holding, where he led large-scale sales operations, oversaw bids for major corporate and government travel projects, supported the expansion of the group’s international market presence, and built high-performing commercial teams that delivered sustained growth and service excellence.

Earlier in his career, Amro spent more than a decade with Rotana Hotels, progressing through a series of senior commercial roles. These included Complex Director of Business Development at Beach Rotana, where he oversaw sales, catering, and event operations for one of Abu Dhabi’s flagship hospitality assets. He also played a key role in the successful commercial setup and opening of Beach Rotana Residences and held senior positions in sales leadership and key account management, building extensive experience in hotel operations, revenue strategy, and market positioning. 

Amro will continue to lead Gewan Hotels & Resorts across the UAE and Egypt, while working closely with NG9 Holding across its hospitality, travel, and related businesses as the Group pursues its future growth ambitions.
