The Ritz-Carlton, Turks & Caicos proudly announces the appointment of Hugo Lecanda as General Manager, welcoming an accomplished international hospitality leader to guide the resort and its Ladies and Gentlemen into its next chapter of luxury service and operational excellence.
With a distinguished career spanning nearly three decades in the hospitality industry, including extensive experience with Marriott International and luxury hotel brands, Hugo brings a wealth of knowledge in hotel operations, strategic leadership, and guest experience to his new role in Turks & Caicos.
His appointment marks a new chapter for The Ritz-Carlton, Turks & Caicos as the resort continues to strengthen its presence within one of the Caribbean's most celebrated destinations, while remaining committed to the brand's enduring legacy of genuine care and personalized service.
Hugo Lecanda's professional journey reflects extensive experience across international hospitality markets, including Mexico, Ecuador, Spain, and Hungary. Throughout his career, he has held senior leadership positions with Marriott International and luxury hospitality brands, including The Ritz-Carlton, JW Marriott, and Westin.
Prior to his appointment in Turks & Caicos, Hugo served as Multi-Property General Manager for Marriott Puerto Vallarta Resort & Spa and The Westin Resort & Spa, Puerto Vallarta, while also overseeing an Area General Manager role supporting additional properties in Puerto Vallarta and Punta Mita. His responsibilities included fostering operational collaboration and enhancing guest experiences across the region.
Earlier in his career, Hugo held General Manager positions at The Ritz-Carlton, Cancun; The Ritz-Carlton, Abama in Tenerife, Spain; and The Ritz-Carlton, Budapest. His international experience has provided him with exposure to diverse hospitality markets and the operational demands of luxury hotels and resorts.
Hugo's professional achievements include recognition as Global General Manager of the Year in 2015 for The Ritz-Carlton brand, as well as European General Manager of the Year in 2017, in addition to industry recognition during his leadership in the Caribbean and Latin American region.
