Jason Viljoen

Based at Rosewood Cape Kidnappers, Viljoen will lead the development and execution of talent and culture strategies across the New Zealand portfolio, with a focus on associate engagement, leadership development, talent retention and organizational culture.

Viljoen brings more than two decades of hospitality experience to the role, having built his career from frontline hotel operations through to senior leadership positions. Beginning as a Night Receptionist, he progressed rapidly through the industry, becoming a General Manager at the age of 28 before transitioning into Talent & Culture leadership following his move to New Zealand.

His work has consistently focused on creating environments where individuals and teams can develop, thrive and deliver exceptional guest experiences.

A recognized advocate for inclusion and community engagement, Viljoen led the Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Committee in his previous role, and forged partnerships with low-decile schools and Recreate NZ to support education and employment opportunities for underrepresented groups. These initiatives reflect his commitment to fostering inclusive workplaces while building stronger connections between hospitality businesses and their communities.
