Clive McNish has been appointed as Corporate Director of Operations at GOCO Hospitality
GOCO Hospitality has appointed Clive McNish as Corporate Director of Operations, effective 1 November 2026. In his new role, Clive will oversee the development of Fivelements as the brand grows from its original retreat in Bali into an international collection of destinations, beginning with the opening of Fivelements Samui in early 2027.
His focus is on a wellness offering that is comprehensive yet accessible, welcoming guests who simply wish to explore a healthier lifestyle as well as those seeking a fully immersive, personalised experience. Central to that vision are onsite teams whose warmth and intuitive understanding of guests’ needs inspire people to return, practical guidance that helps guests feel genuinely better, and a cultural sense of place, so that each retreat is unmistakably Fivelements while remaining deeply rooted in its own location.
Clive’s appointment marks a return to GOCO, where he spent much of the past decade in senior roles. As Group Operations Director, he guided projects from market research and concept development through to pre-opening and operations, with feasibility work across markets as varied as Australia, Morocco, Montenegro, Bali and Bhutan. He also served as General Manager of Glen Ivy Hot Springs in California, the historic destination owned by GOCO Hospitality since 2016. During that time the resort was named Best Hot Springs Resort in North America at the World Luxury Spa Awards in 2017 and 2018.
He rejoins GOCO after leading two of England’s best-known country estates. As General Manager of Chewton Glen Hotel & Spa from 2022 to 2025, he returned to the property where his career began, leading a team of more than 300 people. He then moved to Wilderness Reserve in Suffolk, where he has overseen three luxury estates across 8,000 acres and a team of more than 150.
Clive’s career of more than 30 years spans Europe, Asia and the Americas. He led spa pre-openings for Four Seasons in Hampshire and Provence and for Mandarin Oriental Riviera Maya, and at Kamalaya in Koh Samui served as Wellness Director and then General Manager. In 2012, the resort was named Destination Spa of the Year Asia at the World Spa Awards.
