Global luxury travel network Virtuoso® revealed the winners of the widely coveted 2018 Best of the Best awards at last night's 30th annual Virtuoso Travel Week. The ceremony honored the year's top 10 hotels and hoteliers before an audience of 1,700 of luxury travel's leading figures at the 12th annual Hotels & Resorts Dinner. While the event recognized various aspects of hospitality, from best family program to sustainable tourism leadership, it was Ireland's Adare Manor that took home the night's most prestigious award: Hotel of the Year.

The European Union's General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) comes into effect globally on May 25, introducing dramatically stronger rules on data privacy. The EU hopes to achieve a fundamental change in the way companies think about data - its central idea is "privacy by default." But these new regulations are the broadest ever implemented by the EU, because they are not limited to just EU member nations. In fact, GDPR is worldwide, meaning every country must follow these new rules, or be fined up to 4% of a company's global annual revenue.

Best Value Hotels In America Named By TripAdvisor

TripAdvisor®, the world's largest travel site, today announced the 10 Best Value Hotels in the U.S. this fall, based on traveler reviews and TripAdvisor price comparison of 200 booking sites for the lowest seasonal hotel rates. To qualify as a Best Value Hotel, a property must have at least 3.5 stars and four bubbles on TripAdvisor, and offer seasonal nightly average rates that are at least 20 percent below the city average and cost less than $300 per night.
