Pegasus Systems Unveils Online Hotel Booking System For Corporate Travel Managers

Siemens Corporation and ITT Sheraton are first to use the system

London, England - November 17, 1997 - Pegasus Systems, Inc. unveiled its newest online hotel booking product, "Corporate TravelWeb," today at the World Travel Mart conference in London, England. The North American unit of Siemens AG and its travel partner ITT Sheraton Corporation will be the first to use the new system.

Corporate TravelWeb is an online hotel reservations system designed for corporations that desire a Web-based product that can provide employees with direct reservations access to preferred hotels while maintaining corporate travel policy parameters.

Siemens Corporation requested that Sheraton Hotels, Siemens' preferred hotel supplier, provide Siemens employees with a way to book Sheraton rooms at the Siemens negotiated corporate rates via the Internet. The solution they chose was Pegasus Systems' Corporate TravelWeb. Siemens and Sheraton Hotels expect to make Corporate travelWeb available to Siemens employees by the end of this year, providing them with direct access to Sheraton's

reservation system for booking rooms at the Siemens corporate rates. Siemens' 22,000 frequent traveler employees based in North America will be able to access Corporate TravelWeb via Siemens' corporate intranet.

"Since we have so many employees that travel on business by car, we didn't need an 'end-to-end' travel management system that provides air and rental car reservations. For these employees, all we needed was a system that would allow them to book rooms at our preferred hotel chain 24 hours a day, from anywhere in the world," said Hanna Murphy, manager corporate travel and fleet agreements, Siemens Corp. "Corporate TravelWeb was the perfect solution."

According to Pegasus Systems' Bill Lush, vice president, business development, Corporate TravelWeb was designed for corporate travel managers that are seeking a simple solution that can be accessed from an intranet or the Internet and can be quickly implemented and rolled out to their employees. "Because it is so easy to install and use, it's a good interim solution for those companies planning to eventually implement full travel management systems."

Users can view photos of the hotels, read descriptive information about the properties and securely reserve and cancel reservations online. Corporate travel managers can restrict the hotels shown to only those that offer negotiated rates, and can easily add or delete hotel chains with the changes appearing instantly.

"Our primary goal is to provide our Global Preference clients with the means to allow their travelers to access their own negotiated rates at any ITT Sheraton worldwide, any time, from anywhere," said Sheraton's Dan Geller, vice president of corporate travel sales. "Corporate TravelWeb provides this capability and complements our strategy of fulfilling our customers' needs."

Pegasus Systems' Lush noted, "Corporate TravelWeb is a good way to let employees become comfortable with booking their own travel online. It's so easy to use. In less than a minute, a traveler can find and book a hotel

room at any of the corporation's preferred suppliers."
