CHICAGO, Illinois (June 19, 2001) - Guest-Tek Ltd., a leader in delivering broadband Internet access for mobile laptop users in hotels, has enhanced its popular high-speed Internet access for hoteliers and guests with the launch of GlobalSuite™ 3. The new software aims to surpass the industry-leading 97% successful connectivity rate of its predecessor, GlobalSuite™ 2.

GlobalSuite 3 was first deployed in The Biltmore Hotel's 320 guest rooms as well as all hotel meeting rooms and the Conference Center of the Americas in March 2001. The hotel and conference center is located in Miami, Florida. According to Eric Hoskins, systems manager at The Biltmore, the hotel had extremely rigorous standards for helping to evaluate GlobalSuite 3, and was impressed by the results.

"In determining our needs for high-speed Internet access in the guest room, The Biltmore Hotel had three key areas that needed to be addressed by any vendor. We needed to provide a top notch product, superior support along with flexibility and customization, all features that Guest-Tek has been able to provide." Hoskins adds that thanks to the hard work of Guest-Tek director of operations Michael McCarthy and his team, Guest-Tek has been able to provide a stable and reliable product that has earned accolades from guests.

GlobalSuite 3 will increase successful connectivity rates even further through key features such as enhanced plug-and-play capabilities. GlobalSuite 3's proprietary technology enables guests to access all the most important Internet applications: Web browsing, email (both incoming and outgoing), NetMeeting videoconferencing software, and Virtual Private Networks compatible with Network Address Translation. Unlike some competing products, GlobalSuite 3 does not require guests to change their configuration settings regardless of how the machine is set up for corporate network usage and security. A new instant Connection Dialog will further enhance GlobalSuite 3's plug-and-play connection. This intuitive user interface helps guests go online within seconds, and can answer common questions immediately through a convenient, online FAQ section.

GlobalSuite 3's Property Command Console is a Web-based interface that includes a password-protected center with security levels so staff can quickly and easily track usage rates and review related information pertinent to their department only. The console also offers flexible, tiered billing packages. Through this feature, hoteliers have unprecedented options in determining how they wish to offer high-speed Internet access to their guests. For example, they may choose to offer the service for free, at a flat rate, or based on time. Incentive discounts may also be offered for extended stays, or different pricing options for executive business rooms. The result is greater flexibility for hotels in choosing how to promote high-speed Internet access to their guests.

GlobalSuite 3's unique distributed application architecture enables Guest-Tek or the hotel's IT center to operate as an Application Service Provider (ASP). This facilitates rapid deployment, remote management and automated software upgrades to the local venue server. The distributed model ensures that if the service was ever interrupted, it could be restored within minutes by transferring responsibility to another site. This all translates into better service for the guest.

GlobalSuite 3 product demos can be viewed on the Guest-Tek Web site, located at . Guest-Tek will officially launch GlobalSuite 3 at the Hospitality Industry Technology Exposition & Conference (HITEC) in Orlando, Florida June 26-28 (booth 1243).
