Banyan Tree Bangkok All Set For January 2002 Opening - Bangkok's Tallest All-Suite Business Hotel To Be Re-Launched After Extensive Renovation

Singapore, 12 September 2001 - Banyan Tree Hotels & Resorts is all set to re-launch the 162-room Banyan Tree Bangkok, the first business and city hotel amongst its stable of luxury spa resorts, on 1 January 2002, following an extensive refurbishment program now in its last phase of completion. The 60-story high hotel with spectacular city views facing the Lumpini Park or the Chao Praya River will boast a new Spa Suite category, a new Executive Club lounge, two additional levels to Banyan Tree Spa, a Banyan Tree Gallery and new dining concepts.
Our new Spa Suites come with separate spa treatment rooms and guests staying in the Spa Suite will enjoy certain privileges such as welcome footbath, advance spa booking, guaranteed in-suite spa treatment from 0900hrs to 1400hrs, choice of bath salts and scrubs, essential oils and scented incense, complimentary 'spa' canapés, a selection of local fruits and the use of a juice mixer. Other services available to Spa Suite guests include 24-hour Spa Guest Services, complimentary laundry, dry cleaning or pressing (up to two pieces daily), complimentary local calls and faxes, guaranteed late checkout till 1600hrs, in-suite registration and express checkout. Other features of the Spa Suite include separate sleeping and living/working areas, king-sized beds and complimentary mini-bars (excluding alcoholic drinks), amongst other modern amenities such as data and direct fax lines, 11 Mbps wireless Internet connection, two-line speakerphones with data port and voicemail that are expected of an international business hotel.
A new Executive Club Lounge will greet our Banyan Tree Club guests, who will not only enjoy check-in and check-out reception at The Club itself, a welcome footbath and the exclusive use of club facilities including a breakfast room, a lounge, a sky-deck and a pool bar, but also 24-hour Club Concierge Services and the exclusive use of full spa facility. Club guests, and guests of our Spa Suite and the Presidential Suite, will be treated to a 10-minute neck and shoulder massage, and guaranteed spa treatment from 0900hrs to 1400hrs (two-hour advance notice required thereafter) during their stay. An extensive library with the latest periodicals, newspapers and reference materials, and a boardroom with the capacity of eight persons (subject to availability) are also at their disposal.
Business services extended to all guests include assistance with forward trip planning and reconfirmation, a full-service Business Center, mobile telephone and laptop rental. The new spa levels will feature seven single and four double treatment rooms with sauna, steam and spa treatments, wet and dry treatments, massages, body wrapping, facial treatment, meditation class, aerobic class, aqua-aerobics class, gymnasium and Banyan Tree Spa Gallery. The private treatment rooms will also feature stunning floor-to-ceiling views of Bangkok. The project will introduce an upscale and trendy rooftop grill and champagne lounge for the first time. The panoramic sky views of the city will become the draw card for this new outlet. Saffron, a modern Thai cuisine restaurant found in all Banyan Tree Resorts, will replace the existing Compass Rose on the 59th story. Rom Sai, a sub-terranean all-day dining restaurant at the basement, will emerge with an open kitchen, boasting a pizza oven, a Tandoori oven and a barbecue station, serving international favorites cook-to-the-minute. Guests can also look forward to a new free form pool suitable for both lap swimming and a leisurely dip. The garden style atmosphere enhances relaxation and is ideal for sunbathing.
