Guest-Tek's wireless solution gains repeat guests at Hyatt Fair Lakes
Guest-Tek showcases GlobalSuite Wireless at HITEC

HITEC 2003, New Orleans, LA - Guest-Tek, a leader in delivering full-service, wireless and wired broadband networking solutions to hotels, is showcasing its enhanced GlobalSuite Wireless at HITEC 2003. The fast, reliable solution, which features flexible billing and customizable security, is already proving a hit with hoteliers and their guests.
"Like our wired solution, GlobalSuite Wireless enables hoteliers to choose exactly how they want to offer high-speed Internet access - complimentary or for a charge. Hoteliers also retain 100% of the revenue if they choose to charge for access," says Guest-Tek Product Manager Andrea Jung.
Customized security options are another key differentiator of GlobalSuite Wireless. Hoteliers can choose from offering their guests public network access, private network access, or a combination of the two depending on their guests' needs. Public network access enables guests to connect in seconds, with security provided through their own VPNs. Private network access offers built-in security by requiring guests to authenticate against a security server before logging in. Both options are plug-and-play, allowing guests to connect within seconds.
Guest-Tek's solution has been a huge success for Hyatt Fair Lakes in Fairfax, Virginia. The property has been offering GlobalSuite Wireless in approximately 25% of its guest rooms, as well as in the hotel lobby, since April 28, 2003. "We needed to meet the expectations of our guests and stay on top of our competition, and with GlobalSuite Wireless, we've been able to do exactly that," says Gail Smith-Howard, General Manager of Hyatt Fair Lakes.
Smith-Howard adds that guest response to the service has been tremendous. "Our guests keep coming back and asking for the service, which is the greatest return we could possibly ask for."
According to Hyatt Fair Lakes Director of Engineering Hal Yawberg, Guest-Tek's reputation for reliability and customer support, combined with its endorsement by Hyatt's corporate office, were key factors behind the decision to choose the company. GlobalSuite Wireless's flexible billing feature was also crucial. "We wanted to have complete control over both billing and revenue, and GlobalSuite Wireless offered us exactly that," states Yawberg.
The hotel charges $9.95 for 24 hours of service in guest rooms and the hotel lobby. Yawberg says the property is already considering expanding the service to additional rooms.
Guest-Tek is showcasing GlobalSuite Wireless and emerging technologies at Booth 338 during HITEC.
