Choice Hotels Selects Shift4 as Payment Gateway

Worldwide lodging franchisor Choice Hotels International, Inc. (NYSE:CHH) has signed an exclusive three year agreement with Shift4 Corporation to provide Shift4’s $$$ ON THE NET software to Choice Hotels franchisees.

$$$ ON THE NET allows associates at Choice’s Comfort Inn, Comfort Suites, Quality, Sleep Inn, Clarion, MainStay Suites, Econo Lodge, and Rodeway Inn brand hotels to quickly, accurately and securely process credit card transactions from their property management systems through any processor they select. In addition, $$$ ON THE NET provides the management at these properties advanced auditing capabilities, robust reporting and fraud controls. Franchisees with multiple properties or properties with multiple profit centers (restaurants, gift shops, etc.) can centrally report and manage transactions for the complete enterprise right from a web-browser.

The initial installation of the first 2650 properties will be completed by September 30th of 2005, but only represents the first stage of an ongoing partnership. Phase two of the project will include the installation of hundreds of additional properties and will also focus on the development of additional functionality for the properties, including check verification and debit features.
