Save the Date! The International Hotel & Restaurant Association (IH&RA) will host its 42nd Annual Congress in Beijing, China, from 28-30 October 2005 at the Kempinski Hotel Beijing Lufthansa Center. The Conference will be preceded on 27 October by one day of closed IH&RA member meetings for the IH&RA Board of Directors and its Specialty Councils of Chief Executives of National Hotel & Restaurant Associations ("NACE") and of Hotel and Restaurant Chains.

Themed “Orient Express: Destination China! New Markets – New Competition” the Congress includes a 1-1/2 day Conference featuring travel, tourism and hospitality industry leaders speaking on four key areas:

  • Branding – international brands vs. national Chinese brands
  • Training, education and human resources;
  • In-bound and outbound tourism;
  • International hospitality trends

...all as it relates to China, destined to be the number one tourism destination in the world by 2020, according to the World Tourism Organization, as well as the imminent source of new clients as the Chinese increase international travel to new and far-reaching destinations worldwide.
