New Jurys Inn Aberdeen Leads Regeneration Plans
The highly anticipated Jurys Inn Aberdeen hotel opens today, the first business to open its doors as part of the Union Square regeneration programme. The hotel fulfils a huge need for high quality, good value accommodation in the city centre and opens just in time for the Offshore Europe 2009 next week. Delegates at the conference will be amongst the first guests to stay at this impressive new hotel in the heart of Aberdeen.
The opening of the £17.5 million hotel has given a huge boost to employment in the area following a successful recruitment drive which saw 70 people hired. This is the third hotel Jurys Inns has opened in Scotland and the group now employs 206 people across the country. This will increase next year when another Jurys Inn opens in Glasgow in 2010. This year, Jurys Inns Glasgow was voted Best Budget Hotel in Scotland and Scottish Eco Hotel of the Year.
Billy Roche, General Manager of Jurys Inn Aberdeen comments:“We have an enthusiastic team ready to hit the ground running for the busy week ahead as we welcome delegates from Offshore Europe to our fantastic hotel. We are all committed to offering the award winning welcome which Jurys Inns is known for and hope the hotel will become a central part of the Aberdeen community. We look forward to working with local businesses and people.”
Staff from hotel were scattered across the city in search of Aberdeen’s hot spots as part of a citywide and life size Monopoly game designed to increase the staff’s knowledge of the local area so they are well equipped to answer any questions guests may have about the city – image attached.
