Global law firm Proskauer is renewing its partnership with Cornell's Center for Hospitality Research (CHR) for another three-year term. Partners are essential to the CHR's mission of creating new knowledge and sharing research ideas for the international hospitality industry and related businesses.
In addition to participating in the CHR advisory board, Proskauer has hosted a CHR roundtable and an advisory board meeting at their New York office, and plans to host another roundtable later in 2010. "Proskauer's generous support has been a great asset to the CHR," said associate director Jennifer Macera. "In particular, we greatly value the participation of Jeffery Horwitz, who is a partner at Proskauer and is co-head of the firm's mergers and acquisitions and lodging and gaming practice."
Horwitz pointed to the importance of CHR's research program in support of the hospitality industry. "The CHR deals with real-world issues that directly affect the hospitality and gaming industries," he said. "Given Proskauer's strong practice both in the U.S. and internationally, we greatly appreciate Cornell's global research agenda. The CHR roundtables are a key part of that agenda." Horwitz will continue as a member of the CHR advisory board.
Founded in 1875, Proskauer offers legal services in numerous business fields from offices in the U.S., Hong Kong, London, Paris, and São Paulo. In addition to hospitality and gaming, the firm's clients include firms in entertainment, health care, and information technology, among many others. In addition to mergers and acquisitions, its practice includes taxation, litigation, intellectual property, and labor and employment law.
