Wyndham Hotels and Resorts, LLC, a subsidiary of Wyndham Worldwide Corporation (NYSE: WYN), today announced its expansion in Maryland with the addition of the 104-room Wyndham Baltimore Peabody Court in Baltimore's historic Mount Vernon neighborhood.
Owned and managed by Silver Spring, Maryland-based Sunburst Hospitality Corporation, the 14-story property joins the Wyndham Garden Hotel Gaithersburg in Maryland in serving travelers visiting the greater Baltimore-Washington, D.C., area.
"Baltimore is a historic, vibrant city that attracts travelers from across the world for both business and leisure travel," said Jeff Wagoner, president of Wyndham Hotels and Resorts. "Wyndham Baltimore Peabody Court is an exciting addition to the Wyndham brand in a key metropolitan market. The hotel puts guests close to the places they need to be while providing them with upscale accommodations, modern amenities and personalized service."
The hotel's lobby exudes old-world charm with antique furnishings, a six-foot Baccarat chandelier and library characteristic of Mount Vernon, Maryland's first designated National Historic District.
Wyndham Baltimore Peabody Court's guest rooms feature custom French marble-top furniture, wired and wireless high-speed Internet access, pillow-top mattresses, full marble bathrooms with heated European towel warmers and leather-inlayed work desks in select rooms. George's is named for three iconic Baltimore figures: President George Washington, long-time Baltimore resident and philanthropist George Peabody and baseball legend George Herman "Babe" Ruth.
Meeting facilities include 4,000 square feet of flexible function space. The George Washington Room, a glass-enclosed rooftop ballroom, accommodates up to 200 people and offers panoramic city views. On-site catering and event specialists are available to help coordinate events and audio-visual equipment is available.
Additional features include wired and wireless high-speed Internet access throughout the hotel, business center, 24-hour fitness facility, cocktail lounge and valet parking.
Wyndham Baltimore Peabody Court is approximately 10 miles from Baltimore/Washington International Airport, served by light rail, six blocks from Baltimore's Amtrak station and 30 miles north of Washington, D.C.
