EHL awards the title of Honorary Professor to Mr Stephen Rushmore, President of HVS International
Mr Stephen Rushmore, President of the hospitality consulting group, HVS International, is regularly invited to give conferences at the Ecole hôtelière de Lausanne (EHL) where he frequently teaches classes on Real Estate Financial Management and holds seminars on hotel valuation and hotel real estate assets. Mr Michel Rochat, General Director of EHL and Mr Fabien Fresnel, the Education and Research Director presented this award to Mr Rushmore. As well as being a renowned professor who teaches in some of the world's most prestigious universities, Mr Rushmore has had an illustrious and very exceptional career in hospitality consulting with one of the biggest global groups. Stephen Rushmore has a passion for teaching which he does unstintingly all over the world, notably at Harvard University: "I love to teach, it is very satisfying. I would be a full time teacher if I didn't manage HVS. I learn a lot from the students; contact with them enriches me and they motivate me to always strive to do better to satisfy them. I particularly appreciate the level of intelligence of the EHL students, their curiosity, their high level of requirements and education, their open attitude to the world…" Mr Fresnel specially underlined Mr Rushmore's human qualities: "He knows how to be both a talented, outstanding businessman and a wonderful human being, which is something not everyone can attain. This is also what draws students to him: they appreciate his humbleness and availability."
Stephen Rushmore has had links to EHL for almost ten years now, and he is also a member of the International Advisory Board. He stated that he was honoured to be the recipient of such a prestigious title: "This is an honour which is not often awarded. I am one of the first! It is very pleasant to be recognised by an institution that is as prestigious as EHL". Stephen Rushmore is delighted to be able to come and teach more often at EHL in an academic environment that he appreciates enormously and in a city and country where he enjoys the atmosphere and the culinary specialities.
