NEW YORK -- Taj Hotels Resorts and Palaces announced that it will add travel industry sales representation in Brazil for many of its 108 properties worldwide through a partnership with The Private Label Company (The PLC).

"As Taj Hotels continues its global expansion, it is vital that we develop brand awareness in emerging markets with a strong affinity for international luxury travel," said Raymond Bickson, Managing Director and CEO, Taj Hotels Resorts and Palaces. "Representation in Brazil, through our relationship with The PLC, is vital to our overall growth strategy, particularly in the U.S. I'm delighted that Kathleen Shea and Jodi Dell Leblanc, our vice presidents for sales and marketing in the Americas, will be supporting this new resource in their respective roles."

Josy Karabolad, newly appointed Regional Sales Manager with The PLC, will introduce Brazilian travel planners to Taj Hotels, one of Asia's largest and finest hotel groups. Celebrated for its award-winning hospitality and culinary innovation, the Taj portfolio includes three iconic luxury hotels in the U.S.: The Pierre, A Taj Hotel on New York's Central Park; Taj Boston overlooking Boston's Public Garden, and Taj Campton Place on San Francisco's Union Square.

In Europe, Asia and Africa, Taj Hotels offers residential-style townhouse suites in London just steps from Buckingham Palace, authentic royal palaces in India, and idyllic beach resorts in the Maldives and beyond. New properties on the horizon include the Taj Palace Marrakech opening this fall in Morocco, making it the second luxury Taj property in Africa following the 2010 opening of Taj Cape Town.

Based in Sao Paulo, Karabolad is fluent in English and Portuguese and conversant in Spanish. She was previously an account manger with Sheraton Sao Paulo WTC and WTC Convention Center with responsibility for group sales, especially with key automotive, pharmaceutical and third-part incentive companies. She also held positions with the Grand Hyatt Sao Paulo and Melia Office Park Hotel. She has her MBA in marketing from Universidade AnHembi Morumbi, Sao Paulo, Brazil, and an undergraduate degree in travel and tourism from Escola Suerior de Turismo e Hotelaria, Florinapolis, Brazil.
