Amari wins 'Most Popular International Hotel Brand' Award from Golden Pillow Awards
Amari, the centrepiece of the ONYX Hospitality Group's portfolio of hotel brands was recently recognised as the Most Popular International Hotel Brand of Southeast Asia in one of China's leading hospitality industry awards.

The annual Golden Pillow Award of China Hotels, organised by China's top financial medium 21st Century Business Herald, began in 2004 with the aim of providing guidance and analysis for China's hospitality industry in line with the increased demand for a more rigorous evaluation of business and luxury hotels. Currently, the Golden Pillow Awards are amongst the top 5 awards for the hotel industry in China with as many as 500 five-star hotels applying for the evaluation every year.
2011 marked the first year that hotels outside the Greater China region were involved in the awards. The recipients of the 8th Golden Pillow Awards were selected following a four-month evaluation process during which feedback was sought from a panel of judges comprising hotel investors, business experts and the media, in addition to millions of votes from netizens.
Peter Tangl, ONYX North Asia's Director of Operations, China represented the Amari brand during the award ceremony, held in Sanya on 15 June 2011. A fluent Mandarin speaker, Peter also participated in a panel discussion on service innovation during an industry summit that preceded the awards ceremony.
