Philips and Nordic Sea Hotel, Stockholm, announce the world’s first installation of Philips MediaSuite with NetTV for hotels
Philips MediaSuite delivers easy-to-use interactive entertainment, information, and communication services to hotel guests
Today, Philips and the Nordic Sea Hotel in Stockholm announced the installation of Philips MediaSuite TVs in the hotel's 367 rooms. The four-star hotel, part of the Nordic Choice Hotel Group, is the world's first hotel to offer their guests interactive online services through Philips MediaSuite TVs.
"We simply wanted to give our guests the TV of the future. We selected Philips MediaSuite because of its appealing design, high picture quality, low energy consumption and the NetTV offering a wide range of online information and entertainment services. With the MediaSuite we want to exceed the expectations of our guests when it comes to the choice of services and user experience," said Satu Andersson, General Manager at the Nordic Sea Hotel.
Integrated access to social media
Philips MediaSuite featuring NetTV is based on an easy-to-navigate online platform. Services include access to international channels, YouTube, catch-up TV and to the Web. A broad selection of apps allows instant access to news services, local weather forecasts and city information plus much more. In addition, Facebook and Twitter apps keep guests in touch with friends and family members.
All services are accessible without the need to unpack a notebook or a tablet PC. NetTV can be operated with a remote control, specifically designed for simple and intuitive navigation. To ensure full data security of sensitive account data, Philips MediaSuite automatically deletes all user data as soon as the TV switches to standby mode.
Future-proofed cloud solution
"Philips MediaSuite was especially created with hoteliers for the hospitality market. The interactive services fully meet guest demand for easy online access to entertainment, information and communication through the TV's large screen without compromising on picture quality and design. Plus, the cloud based architecture of NetTV considers the needs of IT managers for a centralised, future-proof configuration," explained Pär Backlund, Nordic Sales Manager Hotel TV at Philips.
