Hotel Association of North Texas Announces 2012 Board of Directors

Dallas, TX – The Hotel Association of North Texas (HANTX), announced today its 2012 Board of Directors including the election of John Klukan, General Manager at the Marriott Solana Westlake, as its new incoming president. He succeeds Mark Brooks, General Manager of the Dallas/Addison Marriott Quorum by the Galleria who will become chairman of the HANTX Board of Directors. Ray Hammer, General Manager of the Sheraton Dallas Hotel and Roberto van Geenen, General Manager of the Ritz Carlton were also elected as vice presidents.

"We are pleased to welcome the 2012 Board and look forward to a special year as we celebrate our 90th year representing the hospitality industry in Dallas and North Texas," said Klukan. "Originally founded in Dallas, today our association represents more than 40,000 hotel rooms across North Texas making us one of the largest hotel associations in the country. Our board, membership, and allied vendor members are poised for a banner year in our scope of work!"

The Hotel Association of North Texas is one of the largest local hotel associations in the country representing more than 40,000 rooms in the North Texas market. Established in 1922, the association works to promote the interests of the hotel community throughout North Texas. Each year it hosts a series of events and programs in support of the hotel industry including an annual golf tournament held in conjunction with Meeting Professionals International DFW Chapter, awarding scholarships to area students and hotel personnel, hosting a state of the industry luncheon for hotel personnel and civic leaders, and celebrating the industry with its signature event of the year, the HOSPYs Awards and Silver Plume Gala.
