The recently renovated Riu Don Miguel in Gran Canaria is, beginning November 1st, the first Adults Only hotel for RIU in Spain.
Since it reopened in late July the hotel has positioned its new concept among the clients who are looking for a quiet, sophisticated and modern atmosphere ideal for a couples getaway. The new pool area is the new central focus of the hotel and its 'Divine Lounge' has become a very popular venue for an evening drink.
The newly renovated Riu Don Miguel Hotel is situated in the heart of Playa del Inglés, only a few metres from the shopping area and the Yumbo centre, which houses the gay community's favourite shops, bars and restaurants. The beach and the seaside promenade are a kilometre and a half away and the hotel offers a free shuttle service for its guests.
Its 251 rooms have been completely renovated using the latest RIU interior design concept which is currently being implemented throughout its hotels, offering a predominately white colour scheme, and simple straight lines, with occasional touches of daring colour, such as violet in the curtains. New features are also being introduced, such as flat screen televisions, air-conditioning, minibar and electronic safes.
The gardens and pool have been completely redesigned, offering a more modern and relaxing space, with a new terrace and a bar called the 'Divine Lounge'.
The hotel's range of cuisine has also been extended. Now, in addition to the wide and varied range on offer at the buffet in the main restaurant, which is included in the half-board rate, guests can book the à la carte 'Body's' restaurant at a small additional charge.
The hotel provides a vast entertainment programme, which includes live shows several times a week, a large fully equipped gym which is free to use and a tennis court.
