Steigenberger is expanding in Stuttgart. The Frankfurt-based company will be represented in the exclusive hotel and residential project Cloud No. 7 (www.cloudno7.de) of the new Europaviertel district, with a design-driven first-class hotel. The Steigenberger Hotel will take up seven storeys of an 18-storey hotel and residential tower, providing some 175 guest rooms and suites. It will have five meeting rooms with about 550 square metres for meetings and conferences. It will also have a restaurant and a spa area, and special highlights such as the "Skybar" with an outside terrace and a view over Stuttgart.
"We are convinced that Stuttgart is an excellent hotel location," said Puneet Chhatwal, Chief Executive Officer of Steigenberger Hotels AG, "because demand in this major business city has been developing dynamically for many years. Our new hotel will be the ideal complement to the Steigenberger Graf Zeppelin and the Steigenberger InterCityHotel. That will gives us outstanding synergy effects."
Building is scheduled to start in summer 2013. Above the hotel storeys, there will be about 60 luxury residential apartments and business apartments. The investor and project developer is Schwäbische Wohnungs AG, based in Stuttgart.
"What we are selling is quality of life," says Tobias Fischer, Managing Director of the project developer Schwäbische Wohnungs AG, commenting on the philosophy of the Cloud No. 7 project. "This combination of superlative hotel service and exclusive apartments opens up completely new perspectives for Stuttgart."
Concept design of the hotel project and closing of the contract with Steigenberger were guided by Feuring – Visionary Hotel Development, Mainz (www.feuring.com), acting in an advisory role for the owner. Steigenberger has been operating in the Stuttgart market since the opening of the luxury hotel Steigenberger Graf Zeppelin in 1957. The InterCityHotel at Stuttgart Central Station was added in 1991.
