IHG Signs First Hotel Indigo in Finland

InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) one of the world's largest hotel companies, is delighted to announced the signing of its first Hotel Indigo in Finland: Hotel Indigo Helsinki - Boulevard.

Due to open in 2015, the 120-room hotel is a conversion of an existing building. It will open under a franchise agreement with International Restel Hotels Ltd; a trusted partner who already operate all eight of IHG's existing hotels in Finland.

The hotel will be located in the Kamppi/Punavuori districts of Helsinki which are famous for 19thCentury art and architecture, nestled in amongst trendy restaurants and art galleries. Hotel Indigo Helsinki - Boulevard will be designed in every respect to reflect its neighbourhood, the character and history of the surrounding area.

As well as boasting a rich historic and cultural offering for tourists, Helsinki is also the international business capital of the Nordics. Helsinki was chosen as World Design Capital in 2012.

Peter Vermeer, Vice President of Development for Benelux and Eastern Europe, IHG said: "We're delighted to announce our ninth property with International Restel Hotels Ltd. This will be the first Hotel Indigo hotel in the Nordics showing the appetite for the Hotel Indigo brand right across northern Europe. The hotel is set in an iconic location and complements its surroundings perfectly, offering residents and guests a great space to relax and unwind."

The hotel features a high quality bar and restaurant for both locals and guests to enjoy, as well as a large fitness studio. All Hotel Indigo properties in Europe offer free Wi-Fi throughout the hotel.

IHG hotel brands are well represented in Helsinki region with five hotels already open: Crowne Plaza Helsinki; Holiday Inn Helsinki - West Ruoholahti; Holiday Inn Helsinki Exhibition & Convention Centre; Holiday Inn Helsinki -Vantaa Airport and Holiday Inn Helsinki City Centre.

IHG has 11 Hotel Indigo hotels already open across Europe, with a further 14 in the development pipeline*.
