guest Internet, following the company's successful completion of Marriott's rigorous testing and acceptance periods. Today, over 50 Marriott properties have Internet equipment installed by Broadband Hospitality. Why Companies Choose Broadband Hospitality
Curt Weingart, VP Sales & Marketing for Broadband Hospitality, saysthere are many important reasons companies have opted for Broadband Hospitality's wired and wireless Internet systems, Internet bandwidth and DIRECTV free-to-guest, HDTV programming.
"We have a formula that works," Weingart says. "We have been serving hospitality exclusively for 20 years. We are still growing, expanding, hiring. Our corporate philosophy is to do whatever it takes to make our customers happy—what is the right thing to do and best for the customer in the long run. It ultimately pays off. What separates us is that we are small enough to react to things whereas larger companies cannot. We get a lot of referrals."
Eighty percent of Broadband Hospitality's core staff has been with the company for 10 years or more. The U.S.-based helpdesk located at the corporate headquarters in Youngstown, Ohio provides hotel staff and guests customer service and technical support 24x7x365.
"We send our own crews to do installations," Weingart says. "We do not send contractors. We can provide much better service by having our own people on-site."
Only Marriott certified equipment is now installed or highly recommended. Due to the volume of wholesale bandwidth that it purchases, Broadband Hospitality is able to pass its savings along to its customers. The proliferation of smart phones, tablets, game systems, and energy management systems has escalated the demand for bandwidth exponentially over the past two years.
Broadband Hospitality sets up and installs wired and wireless infrastructure in a hotel—from the head end servers to wireless access points. Using a Wi-Fi survey process called heat mapping, it can show a hotel owner or manager how well a property is covered by a wireless signal. "We walk in every guestroom and gauge the signal," Weingart says.
Broadband Hospitality sets up and installs HDTV in hotels and is a DIRECTV L&I dealer. Vince Lucci, owner of Broadband Hospitality, sits on the DIRECTV Dealer Advisory Council.
