How can hotels ensure to have direct contact with their guests? What can hotels do to offer its guests the products and services they want? What technology can help hotels to differ the other?

These are just a few of the questions that will be raised at this year's Revenue Forum, a kind of roadshow held in several Scandinavian and Benelux cities. The Revenue Forum is aimed at anybody who would like to learn more about revenue management and exchange information with other insiders from the hotel sector.

During this high-profile event, which is titled "Reclaim the Power!", four industry-experts will be delivering talks on how hotels can regain control over their relationships with their guests with the help of organizational and technological innovations.

One of the speakers, hetras Managing Director Uli Pillau, will be talking about new ways to sustainably increase hotels' revenue with the help of cloud-based hotel management software in a talk titled "What kind of technologies do innovative hotels need?"

One of the main topic's Pillau will be focusing on in this talk is the mobile guest journey: the ability to organize a journey easily and rapidly from a mobile device; from booking and checking in online, to opening your room door with your smartphone – preferably using a mobile app. Another focal point are Hotel Reservation Systems and making it possible for guests to book rooms straight on a hotel's own website using an Internet Booking Engine (IBE).

"The higher the number of bookings that do not come with reservation costs, the higher your margins", explains Uli Pillau, "that means that a hotel or hotel chain should always do its utmost to get people to book on their own website and encourage return visits by providing guests with a mobile app."
