ATLANTA -- The Asian American Hotel Owners Association (AAHOA) announced this morning that as of Aug. 3, membership numbers have surged past the previous record (15,192) and are on track to reach 16,000 by the end of the year.

Samir Shukla, an Oxford, Ala., resident, became the 15,193rd AAHOA member Tuesday night at the 2016 AAHOA Georgia Regional Meeting at the Georgia International Convention Center in Atlanta. Membership has since risen by 13, bringing the total this morning to 15,206.

"I could not be prouder of the AAHOA team and our dedicated members," said AAHOA President and CEO Chip Rogers. "We have been able to reach these amazing heights thanks to their hard work and their strong belief in the value of AAHOA."

Rogers, who took over as AAHOA CEO last March, witnessed another milestone last December when membership officially passed 15,000.

"We are growing every day and constantly adding more member deals and discounts, educational opportunities, and networking events," Rogers continued. "The more value we add to AAHOA membership, the more membership growth we will experience, and the louder our collective voice will become."
