Hotel Nia, a newly opened Autograph Collection property in Silicon Valley, announces its achievement as a LEED® Certified Silver building. Developed by Ensemble Investments with architectural design by Cuningham Group Architecture and LEED Engineering by Integral Group, the presentation of this award represents a milestone achievement for the 11-story, 250-room hotel, and reaffirms its commitment to sustainability and green practices.

Along with adhering to sustainable attributes throughout the construction process—including over 85% waste diversion and 28.8% of total building materials manufactured via recycled materials—Hotel Nia also kept construction as local as possible, with 38.41% of the total building materials manufactured and extracted within 500 miles of the project site. This represents a decrease in virgin materials needed and in environmental impacts from production—reaffirming the property's commitment to sustainability from start to finish.

The U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) created the LEED® program in 1993—an acronym for Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design—to certify that buildings meet sustainable standards. Developed by the USGBC, LEED® is an internationally recognized green building certification system providing third-party verification that a building or community was designed and built using strategies aimed at improving performance.

In addition to its sustainability standards, Hotel Nia has recently been recognized as the best "Hospitality Project" in 2018, as one of 26 recipients of the Silicon Valley Business Journals' Structures Awards—distinguishing the best projects, deals, and leases in Silicon Valley. The property was also presented with an Award of Merit (Residential/Hospitality, Northern California) from ENR California's 2018 Best Projects competition.
