Groups360™, a leading online marketplace for meetings, has expanded its leadership team with the addition of Chris Cigna as its newest vice president of sales, leading the company's sales efforts in the West and Midwest regions.
"Chris is one of the most well-respected leaders in the meetings and event space and for good reason," said Tim Flors, chief sales officer. "He has a tremendous passion for the meetings industry and an innovative approach to solving customer problems, making him a perfect fit for this role. He'll be leading a team of regional sales directors and working with both meeting planner and hotel customers as we continue to deploy our team in the backyard of our clients and the markets where they hold their events."
Cigna joins the Groups360 team with more than 20 years of group sales experience at top-tier convention properties across the U.S. He began his career with Hilton before joining Gaylord / Marriott International, serving for a decade in sales leadership. In 2013, he moved to Las Vegas, where he held sales leadership positions for the Venetian Resort and MGM Resorts International, leading extensive sales organizations.
"I've worked with meeting planners for years, and even though technology is evolving, the industry just hasn't been keeping up with their needs," Cigna said. "GroupSync™ is changing all that, giving planners an unbiased tool with easy, transparent access to a global marketplace of all hotel brands. I'm excited to be a part of that change."
This year has been a marked season of growth for Groups360, with strategic leadership hires following on the heels of last fall's $50 million investment on behalf of Accor, Hilton, IHG and Marriott International, as well as continued product development of the GroupSync platform.
GroupSync is available at no cost to all qualified meeting planners. To learn more about Groups360 or to take advantage of the GroupSync suite of tools, visit www.groups360.com.
Groups360 was created with a singular goal — to empower meeting planners by bringing innovation, transparency and simplicity to the decades-old problem of booking groups. The company's integrated technology solution, GroupSync™, enables suppliers to distribute inventory, engage with planners, and optimize group revenue. GroupSync also equips planners to search and shop hotels worldwide and to book rooms and space directly, online or through a simplified RFP process. GroupSync is the first distribution channel to offer online booking for both group hotel roomsandmeeting space.
