ASSA ABLOY Global Solutions Enhances Commitment to Sustainability and Transparency by Publishing Third-Party Certified Environmental Product Declarations (EPD)
Worldwide provider of security access solutions demonstrates product life cycle transparency and ongoing support of waste reduction while enhancing customer abilities to achieve certifications such as LEED, Green Globes and BREEAM.
Stockholm - ASSA ABLOY Global Solutions has announced its latest achievement in maintaining a priority on sustainability and transparency with the recent publication of third-party certified Environmental Product Declarations (EPD) for 18 of its security-based solutions. ASSA ABLOY Global Solutions worked with Sustainable Solutions Corporation to conduct the Life Cycle Assessments (LCA) and publish the EPDs. With the publishing of the EPDs, ASSA ABLOY Global Solutions can provide its customers with complete transparency in how the life cycle of each certified product impacts the environment and affects a building's sustainability goals.
As part of the EPD process, the LCA report and EPDs went through an in-depth critical review to verify compliance with international standards and the product category rule as required by ISO 14040/44 and ISO 14025. This critical review was conducted by an independent EPD program operator to verify the sustainability claims of each product.

ASSA ABLOY Global Solutions platforms with third-party certified EPDs include several of its electronic door locks such as VingCard Essence, VingCard Signature RFID, VingCard Allure and VingCard Flex. Also awarded certification are the company's Elsafe Infinity II, Elsafe Zenith and Elsafe Sentinel II electronic safes. Several accessories are likewise included such as RFID Encoders, lock cases, escutcheon sets, Zigbee ER Gateways and Zigbee Routers.
