IDS Next Launches Contactless Guest Journey Technology for Hotels
New contactless guest experience solution FX GeM comes in the wake of COVID-19 as health officials recommend social distancing and encourage safer hotel business practices to minimize interaction

IDS Next, a leading global provider of next-generation technology solutions for the hotel industry, today announced the launch of a completely new contactless hospitality solution that works as an overlay on top of the existing PMS FX Front Desk and FortuneNext Hotel ERP. Called FX GeM (Guest Empowerment Module), the innovative technology supports a seamless end-to-end guest journey via a personal mobile device that gives guests and hotel staff a safe and secure way to stay engaged.
FX GeM is activated from a short web link sent via SMS or email to the guest. It can also be used by scanning QR code tent cards inside the room and in the restaurants. As a web-based cloud solution, there is no need for guests to download an app, and the technology enables capabilities which include, but is not limited to:
- Pre-check-in including ID & document upload, upgrades, and payments
- Check-in & Check out
- Digital signatures
- Mobile key entry
- In-room requests including Housekeeping, Maintenance and Concierge services
- Room service ordering
- QR based Restaurant ordering
"As the hospitality industry continues to adapt to the challenges of the pandemic and the new normal ahead, one thing has become clear: the absolute necessity of contactless solutions," explains Binu Mathews, CEO of IDS Next. "With this in mind, we have redesigned the complete guest journey by analyzing every touchpoint to eliminate and reduce human contact as well as reducing contact with articles for guests and/or staff. We are very excited to work with Wyndham Hotels & Resorts as one of the early adopters of contact-less technology."
IDS Next will work with a selection of properties under the Wyndham Hotels & Resorts brands in the sub-Indian continent.
Nikhil Sharma, Area Director of Eurasia at Wyndham Hotels & Resorts commented: "IDS Next offering complements the broad range of enhanced health and safety protocols we have made available to Wyndham Hotels & Resorts brand hotels in the Indian sub-continent in the wake of COVID-19. Its suite of FX GeM tools including contactless check-in / check-out functionality and QR code-based food and beverage ordering, seamlessly integrate with the hotels' property management systems, and we are looking forward to making these available to our franchised partners in the region, as suitable."
