DENVER, CO – Mission Hill Hospitality, a KSL Capital Partners portfolio company focused on transforming select-service and extended-stay hotel investing, announced it has acquired the Courtyard by Marriot Lenox and Hampton Inn & Suites Berkshires-Lenox, located in the heart of the Berkshire region of Western Massachusetts. These are the 22nd and 23rd hotels added to the Mission Hill Hospitality portfolio since the company was launched last year. Terms of the deal are undisclosed.

“The Berkshires are a top drive-to-leisure destination in New England, filled with a rich history and an abundance of attractions bringing in tourists to Lenox year-round,” said Mike Wilbert, Managing Director, Mission Hill Hospitality. “We are excited about the continued growth of our portfolio as we further expand into New England with these two assets.”

The properties are located near many leisure activities including outdoor recreation, music, arts, and foliage and sightseeing tours. In the spring and summer, Lenox offers options for hiking, kayaking, fishing, golfing, camping, and yoga. Winter visitors enjoy skiing at some of the best ski areas on the East coast including Butternut Basin, Bousquet, Catamount, Jiminy Peak and more. Also in Lenox, the Pleasant Valley Wildlife Sanctuary has over 1,000 acres of trails that travel along the slopes of Lenox Mountain.

Historic Lenox is a small-town tourist destination with year-round attractions including museums, theaters, parks and trails. Lenox is the site of Shakespeare & Company and Tanglewood, the Boston Symphony Orchestra's summer home. Tours of Venfort Hall mansion, the Gilded Age Museum, and The Mount, Edith Wharton’s home, are some of the many historical attractions available in Lenox. The hotels are also near multiple art institutes including the MASS MoCa, one of the largest contemporary visual and performing arts venues in the United States, the Clark Art Institute, and the Norman Rockwell Museum. In addition to robust tourism demand, more than 80,000 students are enrolled in the area’s universities, including Williams College, UMass Amherst, Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts, and the University at Albany.

The Berkshires region is a crossroads of culinary culture, attracting some of the most prominent chefs in the region. Dining options range from unique casual eateries and quaint cafés to farm-to-table and fine dining restaurants. Additionally, several local farms offer visiting hours, rounding out the perfect authentic culinary experience.

The Courtyard Lenox and The Hampton Inn & Suites Berkshires-Lenox are located off Route 20 and are easily accessible from a number of major highways. Amtrak’s recently launched Berkshire Flyer train offers seasonal service between New York City and the nearby town of Pittsfield, just a 10-minute taxi or bus ride away from the hotels. Amtrak also offers train service between Boston and Albany, New York to Pittsfield.

The 92-key Courtyard by Marriot Lenox was opened in 2017 and features a décor inspired by the serene setting.
