Arnhem – Quality Lodgings is taking the next step in its international growth strategy with the addition of nine new hotels in Austria, Germany, and Belgium. As a result, the collection now includes 134 independent quality hotels across eight European countries. This expansion supports Quality Lodgings’ ambition to further strengthen its position as one of Europe’s leading collections of independent quality hotels.
As international hotel chains continue to expand and competition for independent hotels intensifies, more and more distinguished hoteliers are embracing the power of collaboration. They seek the benefits of international visibility, knowledge sharing, and commercial strength without compromising their unique identity. It is precisely this combination of independent entrepreneurship and collective support that makes Quality Lodgings increasingly attractive to a growing number of exceptional hotels across Europe.

Strategic breakthrough in Austria
The expansion in Austria marks an important milestone for Quality Lodgings. With six new hotels joining in a single year, the collection quadruples its presence in Austria, growing from two to eight member hotels. This represents Quality Lodgings’ largest expansion ever in the country and further strengthens its position within the German-speaking hotel market.
From the iconic Hotel Tennerhof – Kitzbühel’s first five-star hotel, operated by the Pasquali family for more than 95 years – to the elevated Hochfirst The Luxury Mountain Resort in Obergurgl, awarded three Gault & Millau toques and a Falstaff score of 98/100, the new Austrian members share a strong sense of identity, an uncompromising commitment to quality, and deeply rooted hospitality. Several of the new members are award-winning hotels and culinary destinations that rank among the leading addresses in their respective regions.
Austria has a rich hotel culture and an exceptionally high standard of quality. The fact that six outstanding Austrian hotels have chosen to join Quality Lodgings makes us especially proud. It confirms that more and more independent hoteliers recognize the value of a strong international network where quality, entrepreneurship, and authenticity come together.

Independent hotels are seeking new forms of collaboration
The growth of Quality Lodgings reflects a broader development within the European hotel market. Independent hotels are increasingly looking for collaboration in areas such as marketing, technology, knowledge sharing, and commercial strength, while maintaining their autonomy. Quality Lodgings responds to this need with a network that combines international visibility with practical support in media & PR, direct booking solutions, strategic partnerships, and collective advantages through QL Benefits.
Kitzbühel is already well known, but what truly sets a hotel apart is not its location — it is what it offers. Quality Lodgings is a network of like-minded hoteliers who understand that hospitality is a craft practiced with passion and precision. That resonates with us, and it is exactly why we chose to join.
