Hyatt Hotels Corporation (NYSE: H) today reaffirmed its commitment to expanding its portfolio in Italy with three new hotel openings. The three planned hotels will add 428 rooms and suites in Italy, one of Europe’s most important travel markets where WTTC forecasts international visitor spending will reach an all-time high of €78 billion by 2035.

Hyatt currently offers 170 hotels in Europe across 19 brands, including six hotels across five brands in Italy, with properties in Milan, Venice, Rome, Florence and Sardinia. Since 2019, Hyatt has quadrupled the number of rooms in its Italian portfolio and continues to grow, with more than 40 hotels set to open across Europe in the coming years.

The planned additions would broaden Hyatt’s brand presence in Italy across three distinct segments where Hyatt sees continued owner and guest demand: upper-upscale, lifestyle and luxury, and underscore the role of conversions in bringing global brands to high-demand Italian destinations. Hyatt Regency Rome Central and Thompson Rome are expected to introduce two Hyatt brands to Italy for the first time, while Park Hyatt Taormina would extend the iconic Park Hyatt brand beyond Milan into one of Sicily’s best-known leisure destinations.

As Hyatt continues to grow its footprint in Italy these planned additions would expand access for the 66 million global World of Hyatt members, offering new opportunities to stay across key Italian destinations.

Hyatt Regency Rome Central, expected to open end of Q3 2026 near Rome’s main Termini train station, is designed to serve the city’s strong business, meetings and events demand, with a central location offering direct access to transport and convention activity. Marking the debut of the Hyatt Regency brand in Italy, the planned full-service hotel reflects the brand’s global strength with more than 240 hotels and resorts in over 50 countries – and its role in supporting large-scale gatherings alongside leisure travel. The hotel is expected to feature 238 rooms and suites, a rooftop pool, Pool Bar and Asian-inspired restaurant, Niroma.

Thompson Rome, expected to open in Q4 2026, would introduce Hyatt’s Thompson Hotels lifestyle brand to Italy. The brand is positioned around design, dining and local culture, making Rome a natural market for its Italian debut. Housed in a repurposed heritage building near the Colosseum, Roman Forum and Piazza Venezia, the planned 69-room hotel is expected to include three dining venues, including a sixth-floor Italian Riviera-inspired restaurant and rooftop cocktail bar.

Park Hyatt Taormina, expected to open in 2028 in Sicily, would become the second Park Hyatt hotel in Italy, joining Park Hyatt Milan. The brand’s focus on discerning luxury, residential-style design, art, culture and food and wine aligns with Taormina’s position as a high-end leisure destination. The planned 121-suite hotel is expected to include private terraces, views of the Ionian Sea and Mount Etna, locally inspired dining and a spa.

Italy is an important growth market for Hyatt because it combines strong travel demand with a large base of independent hotels. For owners considering a brand affiliation or conversion, Hyatt offers global distribution, booking channels and access to more than 66million World of Hyatt members - creating powerful network effects as our presence in Italy continues to grow. With the anticipated openings of Hyatt Regency Rome Central and Thompson Rome this summer, and the planned opening of Park Hyatt Taormina in 2028, we expect to offer travelers more Hyatt-branded options in Rome and Sicily
