Lake.com Launches AI-Powered Lake Chat for Waterfront Vacation Planning
New conversational travel concierge helps guests move from destination discovery to property comparison and booking in one guided experience
Lake.com launched Lake Chat, a conversational AI concierge that lets travelers explore waterfront destinations and compare accommodations through natural language instead of traditional search.
Lake.com, a travel platform focused on vacations by the water, today announced the launch of Lake Chat, an AI-powered travel concierge designed to help guests explore destinations, compare accommodations and move more naturally from trip inspiration to booking.
Lake Chat introduces a conversational layer to Lake.com’s booking experience. Rather than beginning with a traditional search box, travelers can ask questions such as, “Tell me about Muskoka,” “Find a quiet lake house near hiking for six people and a dog,” or “Which of these cabins is better for a family weekend?” The assistant can respond with destination guidance, nearby activity ideas, property recommendations and side-by-side comparison details.
The feature is designed to complement Lake Search, Lake.com’s property-focused search experience. While Lake Search helps guests find accommodations, Lake Chat broadens the planning journey by helping travelers understand where to go, what to do nearby and which stay best fits the trip they are planning.
Travel planning does not usually begin with a filter. It begins with a question. Lake Chat gives travelers a simpler way to explore vacations by the water. Guests can ask about a lake, narrow their options, compare properties and continue toward booking without losing the context of the trip. David Ciccarelli, founder and CEO of Lake.com
Lake Chat is structured around five stages of the guest journey: welcome, discover, consider, compare, and reserve. Early in the interaction, guests can explore lakes, towns, parks, attractions and seasonal trip ideas. As they refine their plans, Lake Chat can surface relevant accommodations and compare options based on factors such as sleeps, bedrooms, bathrooms, ratings, price, cancellation policy, amenities and suitability for the trip.
The product focuses on three core travel-planning categories:
How Lake Chat supports travelers
-
Accommodations: Helps guests find lake houses, beach houses, cabins, cottages and villas available through Lake.com.
-
Activities: Suggests things to do nearby, including boating, swimming, hiking, dining, fishing, family outings and romantic getaways.
-
Attractions: Helps guests discover nearby lakes, parks, marinas, towns, events and points of interest.
The launch reflects a broader industry shift toward AI-assisted travel planning, where conversational interfaces are increasingly being used to reduce friction between inspiration, search and booking. For Lake.com, the feature is intended to keep guests inside a connected planning journey rather than requiring them to move between destination research, search filters, property pages and external travel-planning tools.
Guests should not have to translate a dream trip into dozens of checkboxes. Lake Chat is meant to feel more like a thoughtful travel guide: warm, practical and focused on helping families and friends find the stay that will actually work for them.
